Imbalance

This year I haven't seem to find a good balance between my studies and my relationships. Most of my days this semester have been falling in to one of three categories: 1) I have work to do but I end up wasting a lot of time and only end up doing the minimum work I need to do for the day ; 2) I have an exam within the next two days so I actually work at least semi-efficiently (or varying between 30 minutes of high efficiency and another 30 minutes of low efficiency; or 3) I don't really have much work to do and I intentionally plan to use the free time to see and talk to people. So either I waste time, have to work intensely, or spend a lot of time with other people. I really want to find a good balance though so I don't end up having to learn all of the material for an exam two or three days before the exam.

I also don't want to fall into the catch-up cycle again where you fall behind on all your classes and then have to catch up on the one with the soonest exam. Then after that first exam, you have to catch up on the class with the next exam, causing you to fall behind on the class you just caught up on for the first exam.

Sad, but true: old habits die hard.
